C to the O to the D plus the Z

I've been wanting to get into the Call of Duty franchise for quite some time. If you know me, you know they are likely my kind of games. The reason I've never played any of them is that I greatly dislike shooting human enemies in realistic military situations. I don't have problems when it comes to sci-fi or post-apocalyptic scenarios since that never seems real to me. I also don't have problems with PvP type gameplay like Combat Arms, because even though you're fighting other humans the setting is never very realistic.

Call of Duty games, however, seem to focus on fighting NPC human enemies in situations that are a little too real for my tastes. This is in no way a note on how video games might translate to real life at all, because they don't, but just a note on my own comfort level when it comes to my imagination and entertainment mediums. I also never watch the news, because it makes me uncomfortable to see scenes of violence with actual real people.

Then Call of Duty had to go and add zombies to their games, and thus kill some of the realism:

Perhaps I'll borrow one of my little brother's old CoD games over the holidays to see how I like it before I decide to purchase any. I still have the Gears of War series to go through first though.

Anyone else not pick up specific games you might otherwise enjoy gameplay-wise because of something that makes you uncomfortable? Or am I just crazy?
